I
first began doing cut and paste collage from women's magazines of the
40s, 50s, and 60s. I'd long been fascinated by these magazines,
and their depictions of food and women. I aimed for a seamless
approach to the collages, and have had many people ask if they were
photgraphs, or somehow manipulated with the computer. All of the
women and food collages you see here are digital scans of the actual
cut and paste collages. When I discovered the digital camera I
found I could do large collages of my own images, though there are a
couple of digital collages here where I combined both magazine scans
and my own images. In 2005 I started creating collages on the
computer made entirely of my own photographic images. They show
landscapes that are only in my mind.
